Abstract:
A backlight module (42) and a liquid crystal display. The backlight module (42) comprises a light guide plate (11, 21), a first light source (12, 22) and a second light source (13, 23). The light guide plate (11, 21) comprises a light exiting surface (111, 211) and a bottom surface (112, 212) disposed opposite to each other, and a side surface (113, 213) connected with both the light exiting surface (111, 211) and the bottom surface (112, 212). The light exiting surface (111, 211) and the bottom surface (112, 212) together define the thickness of the light guide plate (11, 21). The light guide plate (11, 21) at least comprises a relatively thick first part and a relatively thin second part. The first light source (12, 22) is disposed opposite to the side edge of the light guide plate (11, 21). The second light source (13, 23) is disposed opposite to the bottom surface (112, 212) or the light exiting surface (111, 211) at the second part of the light guide plate (11, 21). By means of the backlight module and the liquid crystal display, multi-screen display of a display device can be realized, and power consumption of the display device can be reduced.
