Title: METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF AN ELECTRODE CATALYST
Abstract:
Provided is a method for the production, by means of the conjoint use of a wet process and a dry process, of an electrode catalyst whereby the effective surface area of the catalyst metal can be increased and a high catalyst metal loading can be achieved. The method comprises a first process (wet process) wherein a carrier (C) such as carbon and catalyst material or catalyst material precursor (S1') are dispersed in a solvent (Y), stirred, and an electrode catalyst intermediate (T1) where catalyst material (S1) is attached to the surface of the carrier (C) is obtained, and a second process (dry process) wherein more catalyst material (S2) is attached to the surface of the intermediate (T1) under dry conditions and catalyst-loaded carrier particles (T2) are formed.
