PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wastewater treatment system and wastewater treatment method that reduce wastewater treatment costs at wastewater treatment facilities while satisfying predetermined discharge standard values.

SOLUTION: The present invention provides a wastewater treatment system and a wastewater treatment method. The wastewater treatment system has: a wastewater treatment facility into which a part of the wastewater is introduced; a mixing unit that mixes the wastewater treated by the wastewater treatment facility and the remainder of the wastewater, and discharges the mixed water; and a control unit 10 for controlling the mixing ratio of the wastewater treated water and the remainder of the wastewater so that the water quality of the mixed water satisfies a predetermined standard. The mixing unit has a monitoring tank 5 into which the wastewater treated water and the remainder of the wastewater are introduced, a sensor 12 is provided for detecting the quality of the mixed water in the monitoring tank 5, and the control unit 10 controls the mixing ratio based on a detection result of the sensor 12.

The waste water which is diffused and treated in the earth is evapotranspired from the inside of the earth layers G1 and G2 for waste waster treatment. The overflown waste water above mentioned is diffused in the radial direction in the earth layers G1 and G2 for waste water treatment by a diffusing board 33 of the outer peripheral part of the waste water treatment tank.
