The present invention provides an internally illuminated road traffic safety sign (2) operating with an electric energy source obtained from a solar cell, which provides a plurality of LED module strips (12) to illuminate the internal lighting with 15 to 22W power consumption in the sign enclosure (4). The LED module strip (12) is configured such that a 12V driving voltage is applied and three surface-mounted LED chips (14) are connected in series on the strip-shaped heat dissipation substrate (16) and are connected in series with the safety resistor (R). The distance (x) between the LED chips (14) arranged in the LED module strip (12) provided in the sign enclosure (4) and the gap (y) between the LED chips (16) of the adjacent LE module strips (14) may be configured to be arranged in 55 to 65 mm. The plurality of LED module strips (12) are configured to be connected in parallel to a 12V driving voltage. Each LED chip (14) on the LED module strip (12) is provided with an individual diffusion lens (20) having a diffusion angle range of 170°. A base plate (8) on which the LED module strips (12) are installed is configured to be equipped with a spring-type automatic air exhaust valve (10) so that the superheated air inside the housing can be discharged to the outside.
