A mobile pavement replacement system (MPRS) is provided including gravity assisted impact hammers (110, 112) for applying downward blows of a controlled magnitude and at a predetermined rate onto an upper surface (146) of the reinforced pavement, to crack the same across the entire width thereof over a wedge (206) being driven therebelow. The wedge (206) is flexibly supported so that it 'floats' and facilitates absorption of the impact forces. Cracked reinforced pavement is subjected to further blows by a hammer (250) coacting with a set of bars (254) to forcibly render a bulk component of the reinforced pavement into small pieces (264) separated from the reinforcement material (266) contained therein. The reinforcement material (266) is now separated from the bulk component, chopped up and delivered in a flow separated from that of the bulk component. The rendered materials (246) are selectively combined with other suitable materials and integrated into a replacement pavement (1000) continuously laid in the wake of the moving MPRS.

The effects of non-equal saturation spikes in a magnetic oscillator magnetometer utilizing a magnetic core sensing inductor are compensated by adding the average inductor current to both the high and low current magnitude limits. In particular, each of the current limits is selected to be a fixed current (which is greater than that required to saturate the core) offset by the average current flowing in the core. The effects of magnetic core hysteresis and series resistance between the inductor and its drive sources are compensated by controlling the drive voltage levels so that the time during which the inductor is driven by current in one direction is equal to the time during which it is driven by current in the other direction.

A shallow recess (49) in the narrow channel receives a sheet assembly in position to be dispensed, and the rear periphery (50) of the recess inhibits the assembly from intentionally being moved back into the container.

A dispensing device is used especially for dispensing a detergent in a pipeline milking plant. As known in the art, the milking plant (2) has a means (4) for producing a vacuum therein. According to the invention, the vacuum-producing means (4) is also connected, via a line (26), to a container (6) in the dispensing device, and a level-determining first pipe (16) is so adjustably arranged in the container (6) that detergent is drawn, by the vacuum produced, from a supply (20) into the container (6) where it adjusts to a level (B) corresponding to the vertical position of an opening (18) of the first pipe (16), when the vacuum is eliminated. The line (26) merges into a second pipe (24) which is extended in the container (6), passes into it from below and opens in the upper part thereof. Besides, a means (22) is provided for emptying the container (6) and for gas-tight closure thereof when no emptying is performed.

This invention relates to a stator winding cooler for a generator (10) having a stator (20), a fluid-filled rotor (30) mounted for rotation relative thereto and a fluid supply (46) delivering fluid to within the rotor (30). The stator winding cooler comprises a fluid sprayer (38) disposed within the rotor (30) for accepting fluid within the rotor (30) and delivering the fluid to end windings (22) on the stator (20) to cool the end windings (22), the fluid sprayer (58) having a variable orifice (51, 53, 55) therein to render rates of fluid flow through the fluid sprayer (58) insensitive to variations in rotor speed. The stator windings cooler is so designed to function in conjunction with the generator (10) which operates at variable speed. The rate of fluid flow through the fluid sprayer is desired to be held constant to avoid over-spraying end windings (22) at high generator speeds. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, oil, which is used as the cooling fluid, is also passed through a fixed metering orifice (57) within the fluid sprayer which provides a maximum flow rate therethrough. The fluid sprayer is used to cool end windings (22) on the stator of the generator (10), which in the preferred embodiment is a polyphase AC generator.
