Stemming reduces inflected words to their stem or root form.
For example the words fishing, fished, fish, and fisher are reduced to the root word, fish,
so a search for fisher returns all the different variations
Returns only one member of a family of patents
Include Non-Patent literature in results

A module (56), and associated method, is engageable with a data terminal (28). The module includes a storage element for storing an identifier address (62), used to identify the origin of a packet of data. The module can be released out of position at a first terminal and thereafter utilized at a second data terminal (32). Thereby, mobility of communications is increased as a user of successive data terminals can identify each successive data terminal with the same identifier.

Appl.No PCT/EP1997/002312 Applicant BORN, Werner Inventor BORN, Werner
The invention relates to a process for manufacturing individual pipe sections of a pipe system comprising a product pipe (1) and at least one duct (5) accompanying the product pipe (1), said product pipe (1) and said duct (5) being provided with an insulation (3) surrounded by a jacket pipe (2). The following procedural steps are proposed to produce practically any duct layout along the product pipe (1) in a simple and economical manner: (a) arrangement of at least one core (7) having at least the external contour of the duct (5) in such a manner on the outer surface of the product pipe (1) that the duct (5) formed by the core (7) is open with respect to the product pipe (1) at least in a linear manner along the length of the duct (5); (b) insertion of the unit comprising the product pipe (1) and the core (7) into the jacket pipe (2); filling of the free duct cross-section of the jacket pipe (2) with insulating material which can only flow when in the processing state.

Bimini's are an almost standard equipment/annex on sailing- and motor-boats, navigating the sunny regions of the globe. They are normally fix-mounted over the steering wheel and over a part of a cockpit area, to protect the steersman and crew from too intense exposure to sun radiation. The new developped Bimini has a central-in relation to its movable screen-attached support frame, fixed to the pedestalguard (monohull) or a vertical part of the hull (multihull and motocrafts). It consists of curved rotatable support tubes, provided with upper extensible tubes (6) to which a rotating/sliding device (1) is fixed. This device clasps the middle bar of the screenframe. The whole design and structure enables the omission of straps or strings to set up, fix and stabilise the frame; free rotating and/or sliding of the Bimini around its axis. Further advantage consists in the transparency of the screen (S) providing visual control of the sails.

Apparatus, and an associated method, for identifying whether a mobile terminal (12) and access point (14) of a WLAN (wireless local area network) are capable of operation pursuant to a proprietary mode. If a determination is made that the communication pair is capable of operation pursuant to the proprietary mode, the mobile terminal is instructed to be activated to operate pursuant to the proprietary mode. Handover procedures are also provided by which better to assure that ongoing communications, during and subsequent to, handover procedures shall also be effectuated pursuant to the proprietary mode. Improved communication quality when the communication pair is operated pursuant to the proprietary mode relative to operation pursuant to a conventional IEEE 802.11 mode is possible.

A photographic film scanner (50) for scanning a film strip (56) containing a plurality of photographic images is disclosed. Previous scanners are slow and are limited to scanning one type of film using one resolution. With the disclosed scanner (50), the film strip (56) is quickly and continuously advanced through the scanner (50) and a digital image of the film strip (56) is created. Individual images contained in the digital image of the film strip are located and displayed. The scanner (50) accepts multiple types of film and can scan at variable resolutions.

An assembly, and an associated method, by which to remotely monitor a surveillance area. Wireless microphones are positioned at selected locations in the surveillance area, and signals generated by the microphones are detectable by a controller. A mobile terminal operable in a cellular, or other radio, communication system forms a communication link with the controller and signals generated by the wireless microphone are routed to the mobile terminal.

Appl.No PCT/US1999/010896 Applicant FITNESS BOTICS, INC. Inventor CHU, Yong, S.
A boxing exercise apparatus is mounted on a stand (20). A pivoted support arm (32) provides a strike absorbing means. In a first embodiment, the support arm is connected to the stand (20) with a spring (42) joined to a rigid rod. The rigid rod is preferably positioned in a neutral position with an integral positioning means. Displacement of the support arm away from the neutral position toward a rocked-back position is counteracted by the spring (42). In a second embodiment, the apparatus further includes a second spring (21) joining segments of the stand so as to bias lateral movement of the support arm. When the support arm is deflected, the first spring (42) and the second spring (21) retard the motion of the support arm within two degrees of freedom. A friction adjustment is provided so as to adjust motion stiffness. The adjustment provides a novel approach using a friction washer.

A user of one of the plurality of wireless terminals communicates with at least one other of the plurality of wireless terminals disposed at the specific location via the access unit. The user of one of the plurality of wireless terminals may also communicate with the Internet via the server unit and the access unit. The server unit may authenticate either an identification or identification and a password of the user of one of the plurality of wireless terminals prior to allowing the user to communicate with at least one other of the plurality of wireless terminals or prior to allowing the user to communicate with the Internet via the server unit and the access unit. The server unit may further determined that the user is at the specific location prior to allowing the user to communicate with at least one other of the plurality of wireless terminals or prior to allowing the user to communicate with the Internet via the server unit and the access unit. The server unit may further provide additional services to the user upon a determination that the user is a member of a predetermined club.

A snap-fit assembly for the distal tip of a catheter is provided. The assembly includes a thermally insulative core and a thermally conductive ablation electrode arranged to interlock with one another by snapping the two together. The core has a proximal end which is shaped to readily fit within the distal tip of an ablation catheter and includes a head which temporarily compresses as it is inserted into the ablation electrode. A method of making the distal tip assembly is also provided.
