Stemming reduces inflected words to their stem or root form.
For example the words fishing, fished, fish, and fisher are reduced to the root word, fish,
so a search for fisher returns all the different variations
Returns only one member of a family of patents
Include Non-Patent literature in results

Appl.No PCT/US1981/001049 Applicant VEECO INSTRUMENTS INC. Inventor WILLIAMS, Norman
A screen lens array system for use in a parallel charged particle beam exposure system. A screen lens array (100) breaks up a flood beam (300) of charged particles into a multiplicity of beams in parallel and focuses them onto a substrate target surface (400). The screen lens array (100) comprises a pair of plates which are mutually aligned with respect to one another. The charged particle flood beam impinges the smaller apertures, of the upper lens plate, which serve as apertures to control image aberrations. The larger set of apertures, of the lower lens plate, are influenced by the electric field between the screen lens array (100) and the target surface (400) to form the embodiment of most of the lens action. The upper lens plate and lower lens plate, when mounted together and aligned are referred to as the screen lens array or lens plate or bottom plate. Mounted above and displaced from the lens array (100) is another plate (200) containing an array of apertures and referred to subsequently as the lens cover plate or mask plate or top plate.

In an apparatus of the type including a magnetic transducer head (25) adapted for flying on a fluid bearing in close proximity to a transducing surface and a gimbal apparatus to which the head is mounted for flying so as to provide flexural freedom of rotation of the head around roll and pitch axes parallel to the transducing surface and flexural freedom of translation in the direction of an axis perpendicular to the surface while restraining rotation of the head about the axis perpendicular to the surface and trannslation of the head in directions parallel to the surface, the gimbal apparatus comprising a thin, resilient, gimbal sheet (10) having an external shape and interior opening defining an outer ring (11) attachable to a gimbal sheet support (12) at substantially opposite points on the outer ring and an inner ring (22) spaced apart from the outer ring (11) and attached to it by a pair or webs (21a, 21b) intersecting the outer ring (11) at opposite interior edges between the points at which the outer ring (11) is attached to the gimbal sheet support (12), the inner ring (22) being attached to the transducer head (25) at a point between the two webs, there is disclosed an improvement wherein both of the outer and inner rings have material removed therefrom (32 and 30) to form a modified truss-type structure to increase the flexural freedom of translation in the direction of the axis perpendicular to the surface without upsetting the rigidity of the gimbal sheet in the plane thereof.

Appl.No PCT/US1982/000973 Applicant MOTOR WHEEL CORPORATION Inventor STRADER, Don, S.
A safety tire and wheel assembly which includes an improved multiple-piece wheel rim assembly (10 or 100) for preventing inflation and/or venting to atmosphere when the rim assembly components are improperly assembled, and an improved safety insert (14) mounted on the wheel rim base for supporting the tire tread during operation following loss of inflation pressure. The wheel rim assembly (10, 100) includes telescoping rim segments (16, 36 or 102, 110) and an O-ring (46 or 116) normally captured in compression between opposing portions of the rim segments for sealing the tire cavity. Air bleed passages (34 or 124) are formed in one rim segment adjacent the sealing ring externally of the cavity to vent the tire cavity to atmosphere when sealing compressive stresses are absent from the O-ring as in the event of improper assembly or disassembly. The safety insert (14) includes a ledge (72) normally disposed within the tire cavity and having a radially facing surface (86) roughened by a circumferential series of axially extending splines (88). Encapsulated lubricant (82) is carried by the insert in a position to be fractured by the tire tread (84) upon loss of inflation pressure so that the lubricant is spread over the tread-engaging insert surface and retained adjacent the surface between the splines.

Appl.No PCT/US1989/001442 Applicant YOUNG, Niels Inventor YOUNG, Niels
A clamp for a cylindrical workpiece (3), such as a shaft, pipe, cable or the like that does not require high friction forces, close tolerances, and avoids uneven clamping pressure. The clamp includes a threaded sleeve (5) for circumferentially engaging the workpiece and at least one correspondingly threaded nut (13) in threaded engagement on the sleeve for engaging either another nut (11) on the sleeve or a stationary workpiece (55) integrally formed with the sleeve. The sleeve is provided with a shallow thread configuration having a flank angle (21) which produces a radial force component that exceeds the axial force component when the nut is tightened, thereby imparting a uniform radial clamping force along the entire extent of the threaded engagement.

An adhesion member is disclosed, which comprises a base material having formed on the main surface thereof a thermally adhesive resin layer, with an adhesion-inhibiting resin layer being partly formed on said thermally adhesive resin layer so as to decrease adhesion force of the adhesive resin layer. When the member is applied under heating to a substance to be adhered by the adhesion member, the adhesion member is completely adhered to the substance where the thermally adhesive resin is laid bare, and is comparatively weakly adhered where the adhesion-inhibiting layer is formed. Hence, the adhesive member can be comparatively easily peeled apart from the substance where the adhesion-inhibiting layer is formed, thus various informations formed on the main surface of the substance being obtained.

Appl.No PCT/US1984/000693 Applicant TRE SEMICONDUCTOR DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION Inventor WELMERS, Thomas, Everett
This data procesing system for a pattern generator receives data specifying each quadrilateral element in a pattern to be generated by laser scanning or other technique. The scanning is accomplished by swaths. In the preprocessor, separate vectors are produced for the portion of each quadrilateral edge in each swath. A real time processor, including a "pipeline" or cascaded set of beam processors, is used to generate a bit map from these clipped edge vectors. The bit map itself is skew compensated to take into account relative movement between the laser scanner and the target during pattern generation.

A method for distributing, drying and heating a selected mix and weight of metals prior to melting in a furnace, including the steps of placing weights of selected metals in a feeder car (38) according to a predetermined distribution, locating the feeder car (38) beneath the hood (92) of a heater, closing the hood (92) over the car (38), heating the enclosed metal and transferring the preheated metal from the car to a charge bucket (20) for a furnace. An apparatus is disclosed which includes a feeder car (38) movable between a loading station and a heating and dumping station. A weight hopper (28) is used for measuring and distributing the selected weights and mix of metals which are then loaded in the feeder car (38). A hood (92) is adapted to close over the feeder car and seal thereto after which a heater is provided to inject heat through the hood into the enclosed car (38). A vibratory conveyor (68) is provided which moves the preheated metals from the feeder car (38) into a charge bucket (20) for a furnace.
