The invention solves the problem of constructing such a head-rest of a seat in a vehicle, especially in a car, which can be moved manually or by means of remote control from the passive to active position and vice versa. According to the invention the head-rest is made up of the movable back squab (2) which is rotationally connected with the back of the seat, with the rotation plane of the back squab (2) being approximately corresponding to the plane of the back of the seat. The pin (3) is permanently connected with the back squab (2) and it rotates inside the sleeve (4) which is connected with the back of the seat. The pin (3) is connected with the blocking pad (5) furnished with the blocking's seat (6) with which the elastically supported locking pin (7) is mated. From the locking position the locking pin (7) is moved by means of either the lever (9) or electromagnet (11). In the second version the back squab (2) is moved by means of the worm gear.

The invention solves the problem of regulating the active position of an arm-rest of a seat in a vehicle, especially in a car. The arm-rest features the mechanism of regulating the active position. This mechanism is made up of the button (1) which through the lever (2) drives the ratchet-wheel (3) that is permanently connected with the cam (4). The cam (4) has the profile which is formed by rectilinear segments having a variable distance from the axis of rotation. The number of segments of the cam (4) corresponds to the number of active positions of the arm-rest. One of the rectilinear segments of the cam (4) rests on the resisting element (5) which is permanently fixed on the pin (6). The notches of the ratchet-wheel (3) are mated with the ratchet mechanism of the lever (7). The ratchet-wheel (3) connected with the cam (4), the ratchet-lever (7) and the resisting element (5) placed on the pin (6) are all mounted in the casing (9) which by means of the pin (6) is attached to the fastening support of the arm-rest (8).

A pressure bolt (45) is guided in said receiving bore (43), moving synchronously with the valve member (60) in a longitudinal direction by means of a rigid connection. As it moves longitudinally, the pressure bolt (45) impinges upon the valve member (60) as a result of the hydraulic forces of the pressure wave in the direction of closure.
