Stemming reduces inflected words to their stem or root form.
For example the words fishing, fished, fish, and fisher are reduced to the root word, fish,
so a search for fisher returns all the different variations
Returns only one member of a family of patents
Include Non-Patent literature in results

Appl.No PCT/US1990/000110 Applicant LIFE RESONANCES, INC. Inventor McLEOD, Bruce, R.
An apparatus (20, 80) and method for preventing and therapeutically treating osteoporosis are provided. The apparatus (20, 80) includes a magnetic field generator (40, 42, 84) for producing a controlled, fluctuating, directionally oriented magnetic field parallel to a predetermined axis (50) projecting through the target bone or skeletal system (24, 72). In one aspect, a field detector (46, 74) samples the magnetic flux density along the predetermined axis (50) and provides a signal to a microprocessor (100, 248) which determines the average value of the flux density. The applied magnetic field is oscillated at predetermined frequencies to maintain a preselected ratio of frequency to average flux density which controls osteoporosis. This ratio is maintained by adjusting the frequency of the fluctuating magnetic field and/or by adjusting the intensity of the applied magnetic field as the composite magnetic flux density changes in response to changes in the local magnetic field to which the target bone (24, 72) is subjected.

An improved outdoor power equipment unit, such as riding lawn mower (2), comprises a frame (4) having steerable front wheels (24) and rear traction wheels (26). Each rear wheel (26) is independently driven by a separate transmission (62). A steering wheel (20) is used to turn the front wheels (24) to control the direction of movement of the rider. Linkage assemblies (80) connected to the steering wheel (20) declutch the rear wheel (26) on the inside of a sharp turn to give the mower (2) near ZTR turning ability. However, the declutched rear wheel (26) freewheels to avoid tearing the turf and the mower does not speed up during the turn.

Apparatus and methods for the determination of moisture content of a sample carried on a conveyor belt. Microwave signals at a number of discrete frequencies within a range are transmitted through the sample and the phase shift of the received signals is averaged and combined with measurement of attenuation or mass per unit area to provide a measure of moisture content of the sample. The invention is applicable to measurement of moisture content of crushed coking and steaming coals.

Appl.No PCT/US1990/003017 Applicant UNIVERSITY OF UTAH Inventor CALDWELL, Karin, D.
A method for the multiplex sequencing of DNA is disclosed which comprises the electroblotting of specific base terminated DNA fragments, which have been resolved by gel electrophoresis, onto the surface of a neutral non-aromatic polymeric microporous membrane exhibiting low background fluorescence which has been surface modified to contain amino groups. Polypropylene membranes are preferable and the introduction of amino groups is accomplished by subjecting the membrane to radio or microwave frequency plasma discharge in the presence of an aminating agent, preferably ammonia. The membrane, containing physically adsorbed DNA fragments on its surface after the electroblotting, is then treated with crosslinking means such as UV radiation or a glutaraldehyde spray to chemically bind the DNA fragments to the membrane through said amino groups contained on the surface thereof. The DNA fragments chemically bound to the membrane are subjected to hybridization probing with a tagged probe specific to the sequence of the DNA fragments. The tagging may be by either fluorophores or radioisotopes. The tagged probes hybridized to said target DNA fragments are detected and read by laser induced fluorescence detection or autoradiograms. The use of aminated low fluorescent background membranes allows the use of fluorescent detection and reading even when the available amount of DNA to be sequenced is small. The DNA bound to the membranes may be reprobed numerous times.
