A sealing strip used to seal connecting joints between a window frame and an embrasure of a building, comprising a carrier material which is coated on at least one surface with an adhesive material for plaster mortar or gypsum mortar. The sealing strip is adhesively affixed to the embrasure. In order to enable the sealing strip to elastically absorb movements between the window frame and the embrasure and to create a sealing strip which is easy to produce and which can be produced at low cost, an elastically deformable membrane (1) made of plastic film is used as a carrier material. A non-woven layer (2,3) is provided as an adhesive material. Said layer is elastically extensible in a transversal direction of said sealing strip (10) in order to absorb movements between the window frame and the embrasure. The non-woven layer (2,3) is non-extendible or only slightly extensible in the longitudinal direction of the sealing strip such that the sealing strip is sufficiently resistant with regard to expansion when used.
