PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a large-capacity information recording and reproduction system which performs stable reproduction by ensuring stable signal quality in the entire recording positions over inner and outer circumferences and is highly reliable.

SOLUTION: The recording region of a disk-shaped recording medium 1 is sectioned into a plurality of zones 2a to 2f that are sequentially adjacent in the radial direction, a clock for recording and reproduction is allocated to each of the zones 2a to 2f, and data are recorded/reproduced according to the clock allocated to each of the zones 2a to 2f.
