The invention relates to a hydraulic binder consisting essentially in a hydraulically active amorphous calcium silicate phase, having in its constitution less than 20% in weight of a crystalline material. The said hydraulically active amorphous calcium silicate phase is a continuous matrix that may contain embedded fractions of crystalline material, being the overall C/S molar ratio of this hydraulic binder comprised between 0.8 and 1.25. The crystalline fraction of this material is essentially composed by wollastonite in both of its polymorphic structures, a and β. Furthermore,, the invention relates to methods of producing the hydraulic binder by liquefying the raw materials, in a specified C/S molar ratio, followed by fast cooling to room temperature. Finally, the invention relates to a building material made by setting the binder or a mixture containing this binder with water and subsequent hardening. The invention enables the production of a hydraulic binder with a significant reduction of C02 emissions, when compared to OPC clinker, by reducing the amount of limestone in the raw materials while obtaining competitive overall values of compressive strength of the hardened material.

The current invention refers to a functionalization process for biocidal compounds with isocyanate reactive function, in order to provide them the ability to be further imobilized through covalent bonds in compatible polymeric matrices. This biocides' imobilization ability allows for its further application as an additive for the preparation of polymeric materials (e. g. : varnishes, paints, etc. ), conferring them antifouling properties by a contact mechanism, thus avoiding the use of conventional processes, which involve the leaching of toxic agents for the biofouling control. The claimed process is therefore an environmentally friendly alternative for biofouling prevention. It consists in the reaction between diisocyanate with biocidal compounds, whose molecular structure includes functional groups compatible with the isocyanate (e. g. : amines, hydroxyl). The modified biocides are then obtained by precipitation, followed by extraction through solvent evaporation under reduced pressure. Depending on the type of biocide used and purity, the optimized reaction conditions allow for the achievement of conversions as high as 95 ± 5%.

The present invention aims to detect counterfeit, or imitated, or falsified, or adulterated pharmaceutical products. It discloses a method for encoding solid pharmaceutical forms, with an authentication code to verify and certify the authenticity and the origin of such products, comprising a bulk powder encoding device and a product certification process. The method produces a product signature, in the form of a unique and unambiguous IR spectrum, by adding small amounts of pharmaceutical-grade markers in each product to be certified. These pharmaceutical markers are added through a bulk encoding device suited over an industrial mixture powder. Then, along the supply chain, infrared devices read the spectrum of codified solid pharmaceutical forms and compare them with information stored in databases in order to guarantee the veracity of the information displayed in the respective packaging. It also associates a set of manufacturing data, such as batch number, manufacture date, manufacture location, expiration date, dosage of pharmaceutically active ingredient (API), and brand to each product signature/infrared spectrum. This invention is applied in solid pharmaceutical forms like tablets, capsules and powder sachets and along all the supply chain of the pharmaceutical product.
