The invention relates to technology for manufacturing a smoking mixture for a hookah. Large-leaf Ceylon loose tea is used as a starting stock. The stock is pre-moistened to a level of 18-22% and heated to a temperature of 40-50°C, then processed for 5-10 minutes with direct steam at a pressure of 3.0-5.0 bar and cut into 3-4 mm wide fibres, the fibres are then subjected to hydrothermal processing with hot water at a temperature of 90-100°C for 5-10 minutes, and the tea stock is dried to a moisture content of 16-20%, the prepared stock is cased by heating to a temperature of 70-90°C with a homogeneous mixture of a glucose-fructose syrup having a pH of 3.5-5.0, an acidity of 4.0 cm3 with a mass content of dry substances of 70.0-71.5%, a content of 40.0-44.0% by mass of glucose, 50.0-57.0% by mass of fructose, and edible glycerin, with a mass ratio of tea stock, edible glycerin and glucose-fructose syrup of 15±5%: 65±5%: 20±5%, respectively, followed by fermentation of the composite mixture for 5 days at a temperature of 50-60°C, cooling of the fermented composite mixture for 15-20 min to a temperature of 18-20°C, and subsequent resting of the mixture.
