통합된 무선 백홀 통신 링크들과 액세스 통신 링크들을 포함하는 통합 링크들의 확립은 중계 송신 포인트 디바이스들 사이의 동기화를 가능하게 하도록 다중화된 동기 신호들을 송신하고 상기 확립을 완료하도록 랜덤 액세스 채널 절차를 사용함으로써 용이하게 된다. 상기 통합된 무선 백홀 통신 링크들과 액세스 통신 링크들은 측정 기준 신호를 사용하여 상기 백홀 통신 링크들의 채널 특성들을 측정함으로써 유지될 수 있다.
