미술관의 전시품 등, 자연광과 동일한 고연색성이 요구되는 각종 대상물의 조명 광원으로, 지구 상에 조사되는 태양광을 지역차나 시간차를 가미하여 재현할 수 있음과 함께, 회화 등으로의 악영향이 염려되는 자외 내지 청색 발광 성분이 저감된 백색광을 방사 가능한 조명 장치를 구체화한다. 자외 내지 자색 발광 LED와 형광체의 조합을 포함하는, 적어도 4종류의 백색 광원을 사용하고, 사용하는 형광체의 재료종이나, 백색 광원의 혼합비를 조절함으로써, 특정 계절, 특정 지역의 태양광의 하루의 변화를 연속적으로 재현하며, 또한 장치 구조의 고안에 의해 안전면 등이 배려된 백색광을 재현한다.
