PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction machine capable of easily restarting an engine and reliably notifying surroundings of a start of operation.

SOLUTION: A controller 27 mounted on a small hydraulic excavator 1 includes: an engine restart unit which restarts an engine 10 after the engine 10 is automatically stopped by an idling stop function, when a restart standby time determination unit determines that a restart standby time T2 has not yet elapsed, a horn switch operation determination unit determines that a horn switch 14 has been operated, and a gate lock lever position determination unit determines that a gate lock lever 16 is in a lock position; and a power stop unit that stops the power supply of a vehicle body when the restart standby time determination unit determines that the restart standby time T2 has elapsed.

【課題】エンジンの再起動を簡単に行うことができると共に、作動の開始を周囲に確実に報知できる建設機械を提供する。
【解決手段】小型油圧ショベル1に搭載されたコントローラ27は、アイドリングストップ機能によりエンジン10を自動的に停止させた後、再起動待機時間判定部により再起動待機時間T2の経過前であると判定されている場合に、ホーンスイッチ操作判定部によりホーンスイッチ14が操作されたと判定され、かつゲートロックレバー位置判定部によりゲートロックレバー16がロック位置にあると判定されたときにエンジン10を再起動するエンジン再起動部と、再起動待機時間判定部により再起動待機時間T2が経過したと判定された場合に、車体の電源を停止させる電源停止部とを有している。
