Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate protective film, and a polarizing plate and an image display device exhibiting high interlayer adhesion and low moisture vapor permeability despite having a layer containing cellulose ester.

SOLUTION: There is provided a polarizing plate protective film having: a layer containing cellulose ester; and a layer containing polymer forming a microphase-separated structure which is provided adjacent to at least one face of a layer containing cellulose ester, in which the polymer forming a microphase-separated structure is polymer which contains rubber segment and has a block structure or a graft structure, and a layer containing the polymer which forms a microphase-separated structure is microphase-separated. There are also provided a polarizing plate and an image display device having the polarizing plate protective film.

【課題】セルロースエステルを含有する層を有しながらも、高い層間密着性と低い透湿度とを示す偏光板保護フィルム、並びに、偏光板及び画像表示装置を提供する。
【解決手段】セルロースエステルを含有する層と、セルロースエステルを含有する層の少なくとも一方の面に隣接して設けられた、ミクロ相分離構造を形成するポリマーを含有する層とを有する偏光板保護フィルムであって、ミクロ相分離構造を形成するポリマーが、ゴムセグメントを含有し、ブロック構造又はグラフト構造を有するポリマーであり、ミクロ相分離構造を形成するポリマーを含有する層がミクロ相分離している、偏光板保護フィルム、この偏光板保護フィルムを有する偏光板、並びに、画像表示装置。
