共有通信媒体上における共存のための技法が開示される。共存を促進するために、第1の無線アクセス技術(RAT)の動作が、不連続送信(DTX)通信パターンに従って、第2のRATと共有される通信媒体上において送信のアクティブ期間と非アクティブ期間との間で循環され得る。第1のRATとの関連付けのための識別子が選択され得る。次いで、第2のRATと関連付けら得るチャネル予約メッセージが、アクティブ期間のうちの1つにわたって通信媒体を予約するために、通信媒体を介して送信され得、チャネル予約メッセージは識別子を含む。
