本明細書に開示される実施形態は、マージモードの予測ユニットレベルでIntraBCフラグを明示的に組み込むことによって先行ビデオ符号化技術を改善するために動作する。このフラグは、ブロックベクトル(BV)候補と動きベクトル(MV)候補を別個に選択できるようにする。具体的には、IntraBCフラグの明示的なシグナリングは、固有の予測ユニットがBVまたはMVを使用するかどうかについての情報を提供する。IntraBCフラグが設定されると、候補リストは、空間および時間隣接BVのみを使用して構築される。IntraBCフラグが設定されなければ、候補リストは、空間および時間隣接MVのみを使用して構築される。候補BVまたはMVのリストを指し示すインデックスがその後、符号化される。本明細書に開示されるさらなる実施形態は、IntraBCと中間フレームワークとを統合したBV−MV双予測の使用を説明する。
