Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving circuit of an LED for a liquid crystal backlight that can provide satisfactory characteristics in a wide output current range.

SOLUTION: There is provided a control circuit 100 of a driving circuit 10 of an LED 2 for a backlight. A DC/DC converter 12 supplies a driving current ILED to the LED 2 for a backlight. A pulse signal generation circuit 102 can be switched between a pseudo resonance mode and a current continuous mode, and generates a pulse signal Sp on the basis of the selected mode. A driver 104 drives the DC/DC converter 12 on the basis of the pulse signal Sp.

【課題】幅広い出力電流範囲において良好な特性が得られる液晶バックライト用LEDの駆動回路を提供する。
【解決手段】バックライト用LED2の駆動回路10の制御回路100が提供される。DC/DCコンバータ12は、バックライト用LED2に駆動電流ILEDを供給する。パルス信号生成回路102は、疑似共振モードと電流連続モードが切りかえ可能であり、選択されたモードにもとづいてパルス信号Spを生成する。ドライバ104は、パルス信号SpにもとづいてDC/DCコンバータ12を駆動する。
