ある実施の形態によれば、固体酸化物燃料電池デバイスは、600℃から900℃の範囲で水素ガス透過に対して耐性のあるシールを含み、このシールは、100×10-7/℃から120×10-7/℃の範囲のCTEを有し、このシールは、質量%で表して、(i)80から100質量%のガラスフリット、ここで、ガラスフリットは、モル%で表して、0〜10%のMgO、0〜30%のCaO、30〜50%のBaO、0〜40%のB23、10〜30%のAl23、10〜30%のSiO2を含む、および(ii)0から20質量%の充填剤から構成された封止材料を含む。
