PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator apparatus for ascending or descending a car by a plurality of hoisting machines without inducing malfunction.

SOLUTION: The elevator apparatus includes: separately and independently arranged first and second drive control units 19 and 20 to drive and control the first and second hoisting machines 8 and 12; an operation management unit 18 which are arranged separately and independently from the drive control units 19 and 20, and output control commands to the drive control units 19 and 20; and a serial communication line 21 to connect the operation management unit 18 and the drive control units 19 and 20. The operation management unit 18 sends and receives information at a certain communication cycle. The drive control units 19 and 20 send and receive information based on the information sent from the operation management unit 18.

【課題】誤動作を誘発することのない、複数の巻上機により1台のかごを昇降させるエレベータ装置を得る。
【解決手段】第1および第2巻上機8、12を駆動制御する互いに分離独立配置された第1および第2駆動制御ユニット19、20と、各駆動制御ユニット19、20と分離独立配置されると共に、各駆動制御ユニット19、20に対して制御指令を出力する運行管理ユニット18と、運行管理ユニット18と各駆動制御ユニット19、20とを接続するシリアル通信ライン21と、を備え、運行管理ユニット18は、一定の通信周期で情報の送信および受信を行い、各駆動制御ユニット19、20は、運行管理ユニット18より送信された情報に基づいて情報の送信および受信を行う。
