(EN) PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproducing device capable of starting section reproduction at a high speed without decoding a reference frame to be needed in decoding of the start frame of the section reproduction when starting the optional section reproduction of a stream.

SOLUTION: In order to reproduce the optional section of the stream, a PlayList registering the position information of a start frame and a stop frame for performing the section reproduction and the position information of a reference frame to be needed in decoding of the start frame, and the reference frame to be needed in decoding of the start frame, are stored in a storage medium. When starting the section reproduction, by using the position information of the reference frame to be needed in the decoding of the start frame registered in the PlayList, acquiring the reference frame from the storage medium, and referring to it, decoding is performed from the start frame without performing the decoding of a reference frame to be needed in the decoding of the start frame, and the section reproduction is started at a high speed.

【課題】本発明は、ストリームの任意の区間再生を開始するとき、区間再生の開始フレームの復号に必要となる参照フレームの復号を行うことなく、区間再生を高速に開始することのできる再生装置を提供すること。
【解決手段】ストリームの任意の区間を再生するために、区間再生を行うための開始フレームと停止フレームの位置情報と、開始フレームの復号に必要となる参照フレームの位置情報とが登録できるPlayListと、開始フレームの復号に必要となる参照フレームとを記憶媒体に記憶する。区間再生を開始するとき、PlayListに登録されている開始フレームの復号に必要となる参照フレームの位置情報を用いて、記憶媒体から参照フレームを取得して、参照することにより、開始フレームの復号に必要となる参照フレームの復号を行うことなく、開始フレームから復号を行うことができ、区間再生を高速に開始する。
