PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structural member capable of being molded at high dimensional accuracy and enhancing bending impact characteristic.

SOLUTION: The structural member 1 is formed by working of a planar member, and is uniaxially stretched (Y axis direction in Fig.1). Further, the structural member 1 has a pair of opposed side walls 12, 12 stretching in parallel with the uniaxial direction; and a connection wall 13 stretching in parallel with the uniaxial direction and connecting the pair of side walls. In the pair of side walls 12, 12, a narrow width part a having a narrow opposed clearance and a wide width part b having the wide clearance are alternately formed in uniaxial direction. At least any one of the narrow width part a and the wide width part b exists in a plurality of portions, and the clearance is continuously uniaxially enlarged or contracted.

【課題】本発明は、構造用部材を高い寸法精度で成形可能であり、且つ、曲げ衝撃特性を向上することが可能な構造用部材を提供することを目的とする。
【解決手段】構造用部材1は、板状部材の加工により形成され、一軸方向(図1におけるY軸方向)に延びるものである。そして、前記一軸方向と平行に延びて対向する一対の側壁12・12と、前記一軸方向と平行に延びて当該一対の側壁を連結する連結壁13と、を有する。前記一対の側壁12・12は、対向する間隔が狭い幅狭部aと当該間隔が広い幅広部bとが前記一軸方向において交互に形成されている。前記幅狭部aと前記幅広部bとの少なくともいずれか一方が複数存在するとともに、前記間隔は前記一軸方向に連続して拡大又は縮小している。
