Abstract
(EN)

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a block copolymer comprising hydrogenated diene residue units and having negative birefringence and excellent transparency, heat resistance, mechanical strength, and flexibility and to provide an optical film comprising the same.

SOLUTION: The hydrogenated block copolymer is an A-B-A block copolymer obtained by the copolymerization of a vinylnaphthalene represented by formula (I) with a diene represented by formula (II), wherein the content of vinylnaphthalene residue units in the copolymer is 70 to 99 wt.%, the diene residue units are hydrogenated, and the number-average molecular weight is 40,000 to 300,000. The optical film comprises the same. In formula (I), R1 is hydrogen or a 1 to 12C alkyl group. In formula (II), R2 to R5 are each independently hydrogen or a 1 to 6C alkyl group.

【課題】 負の複屈折性を示し、透明性、耐熱性、機械強度、柔軟性に優れたジエン類残基単位が水素添加されたブロック共重合体及びそれよりなる光学フィルムを提供する。
【解決手段】 一般式(I)で示されるビニルナフタレン類と一般式(II)で示されるジエン類とを共重合反応させて得られるA−B−A型ブロック共重合体であって、該ブロック共重合体中のビニルナフタレン類残基単位の含有量が70〜99重量%であり、ジエン類残基単位が水素添加されている数平均分子量が40000〜300000であることを特徴とする水素添加ブロック共重合体及びそれよりなる光学フィルム。
