PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photopolymerizable composition having high sensitivity and excellent in stability by providing a new light-absorbing organic compound having broad absorption wavelength in a visible area and excellent in solubility to organic solvents and compatibility with other formulation components.

SOLUTION: A merocyanine dye copolymer has specific structure and properties and comprises a unit containing a merocyanine dye skeleton in the molecule and a unit composed of other monomer.

【課題】 可視領域における吸収波長領域が広く、有機溶剤に対する溶解性と他の配合成分との相溶性に優れた新規な吸光性有機化合物を提供することによって、高感度で安定性の優れた光重合性組成物を提供することを課題とする。
【解決手段】 特定の構造、性質を有する、分子内にメロシアニン色素骨格を含む構成単位とその他の単量体からなる構成単位とを含んでなるメロシアニン色素共重合体を提供することによって前記課題を解決する。
