PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make real-time processing for an access to AV (audio-visual) data possible.

SOLUTION: A CPU 17 calculates the permissible time for an error recovery in accordance with the command processing time to enable the real time processing assigned from a host 2 in case of the occurrence of the sector error in the disk access assigned by a command given from the host 2. The CPU 17 determines the calculated permissible time for the error recovery as the error retry time indicating the upper limit time of the error retry. The CPU 17 controls the retry of the sector where the error occurs in the range where the determined error retry time is not exceeded.

【課題】AV用のデータに対するアクセスに対してリア
ルタイム処理を可能にする。


【解決手段】CPU17は、ホスト2から与えられたコ
マンドの指定するディスクアクセスでセクタエラーが発
生した場合、ホスト2から指定された、リアルタイム処
理を可能とするコマンド処理時間をもとに、エラー回復
の許容時間を算出する。
CPU17は、算出されたエラ
ー回復の許容時間をエラーリトライの上限時間を表すエ
ラーリトライ時間として決定する。
CPU17は、エラ
ーが発生したセクタのリトライを、決定されたエラーリ
トライ時間を超えない範囲で制御する。
