Abstract:
(EN) A method and system for correcting the effect of intensity fluctuations of incident light in an absorption spectroscopy system comprises controlling a light source to emit a wavelength modulated light beam, applying a modulation burst signal 200 to modulate the wavelength modulated beam or separate synchronised beam, which modulation burst signal is a tapering signal modulation, detecting the modulated beam after transmission through a sample, processing the detected beam to obtain at least one detected burst signal and to measure absorption effects of a measurand, wherein the processing includes comparing the detected burst signal with the applied modulation burst signal to determine intensity fluctuations of the incident light that are separate from absorption effects of the measurand, and correcting for the effects of the determined intensity fluctuations. A calibration method using the modulation burst signal is also disclosed.
