Title: (EN) Apparatus for mounting a latch device to a sliding door
Abstract:
(EN) An arrangement mounting a front latch device (3) to a front side of a sliding door to be closed and opened by moving in a front-and-rear direction of a vehicle body comprises a mounting wall (15) to which the front latch device (3) is mounted by screws or bolts (16). The front latch device (3) is provided with a latch body (12) accommodating a fork member (10) and pawl member, and first and second metal plates (9, 13) mounted to the latch body (12). The first metal plate (9) closely engages the mounting wall (15) and the second metal plate (13) has boss portions (17) to be engaged by ends of the screws or bolts (16). The latch body (12) is sandwiched between the first and second plates (9, 13). The mounting wall (15) is parallel to a direction in which the front latch device (3) moves during closing of the sliding door and parallel to the plane of the fork member (10).
