An operating device (1) includes: right and left hold sections (10R) and (10L) to be held by a user, the right and left hold sections (10R) and (10L) provided with first operating members (11) and (19); and a central section (21) interconnecting the right and left hold sections (10R) and (10L). The operating device (1) has a second operating member (22) forming an upper surface of the central section (21). The second operating member (22) includes a touch sensor (23) located between the first operating members of the right and left hold sections (10R) and (10L), and is so supported as to be capable of vertical movement in response to a user's pressing-down operation. The second operating member is plate-like in shape, so that user's fingers can easily reach the second operating member in a condition where the user is holding the hold sections. As a result, operability of the operating device can be enhanced.
