The invention relates to an integral body and frame for an automobile with hollow section supporting parts which are made out of sheet metal pressed parts and are assembled by means of at least one joining technique. An especially torsion-proof construction is obtained by combining varying measures. According to the invention, at least two U frames (11, 12) are arranged behind one another in a longitudinal direction of the automobile. The floor section of said U frames (11, 12) are assigned to a floor area of the body (1) and provide for an advantageous additional construction of integrated components on said floor area. Facing sections of the U frame (11, 12) extend from the floor area to an essentially vertical sidewall column (6 to 9) and/or also extend up to the automobile roof area. In addition, the U frames (11, 12) are directly joined to one another at least in the area of the free ends of said facing sections or are joined by means of a flat sidewall part (15) which is mounted on at least one partial area of the U frames (11, 12) using a joining technique.
