An embodiment of the invention provides a resource transmission method which is applied to a CoAP protocol. The method comprises the following steps that a client sends a resource request message to a server, wherein the resource request message carries a first size option (Size Option) which is used for indicating a resource size provided by the server to the client; and the client receives a resource response message returned by the server, wherein the resource response message carries a second size option (Size Option) which is used for indicating the resource size. In the embodiment of the invention, resource size information which needs to be acquired can be acquired in advance before resources are obtained; according to the resource size information, a mode is decided to be used to carry out resource transmission; and resource transmission efficiency is increased.

本发明实施例提供了一种资源传输方法,应用在CoAP协议中,包括:客户端向服务器发送资源请求消息,所述资源请求消息中携带第一容量选项(Size Option),用以指示所述服务器向所述客户端提供所述资源的容量;所述客户端接收所述服务器返回的资源响应消息,所述资源响应消息携带第二容量选项(Size Option),用以指示所述资源的容量。根据本发明实施例,可以在获取资源之前提前获知需要获取的资源的容量信息,根据资源容量信息决策采用什么方式进行资源传输,提高资源传输的效率。
