Embodiments of the invention provide a resource transmission method applied to a CoAP protocol. The method comprises the following steps that a client sends a resource request message to a server, and the resource request message carries a first size option (Size Option) used for indicating the server to provide the size of the resources for the client; and the client receives a resource response message returned by the server, the resource response message carries a second size option (Size Option), and the second size option comprises size information of the resources. The embodiments of the invention can know the size information of the resources which need to be obtained in advance before the resources are obtained and decide what way for resource transmission is adopted according to the resource size information, so that the efficiency of resource transmission is improved.

本发明实施例提供了一种资源传输方法,应用在CoAP协议中,包括:客户端向服务器发送资源请求消息,所述资源请求消息中携带第一容量选项(Size Option),用以指示所述服务器向所述客户端提供所述资源的容量;所述客户端接收所述服务器返回的资源响应消息,所述资源响应消息携带第二容量选项(Size Option),所述第二容量选项包括所述资源的容量信息。根据本发明实施例,可以在获取资源之前提前获知需要获取的资源的容量信息,根据资源容量信息决策采用什么方式进行资源传输,提高资源传输的效率。
