The invention relates to a novel thin-film electroluminescent device of which the luminescent layer comprises metal nanocluster, and especially relates to a light-emitting diode with the metal nanocluster acting as the illuminant so that an option of the technology used for display devices, lighting and other occasions is added. The invention also relates to a preparation method of the thin-film electroluminescent device, and especially relates to a solution-based preparation method. The invention also provides various applications of the thin-film electroluminescent device.
