本发明涉及一种用于控制轨道车辆的或者由多个轨道车辆组成的轨道列车的紧急制动装置的方法,该轨道车辆或轨道列车具有多个通过摩擦制动器制动的轴,其中,通过紧急制动请求启动紧急制动,该方法至少包括以下步骤:a)识别出至少一个在紧急制动期间出现不允许的制动打滑的轴,在该轴中出现不允许的、在预定的最佳的制动打滑率范围以外的制动打滑率,b)识别出至少一个在紧急制动期间不出现或者在允许的程度内出现制动打滑的轴,和通过至少一个出现不允许的制动打滑的轴相比,通过该轴能够传递更大的摩擦制动力,c)以如下方式调节在至少一个不出现或者在允许的程度内出现制动打滑的轴上的摩擦制动力,即,通过该调节,通过至少部分地补偿由于在至少一个轴上出现不允许的制动打滑而损失的摩擦制动力,从而将轨道车辆或轨道列车的实际减速率与通过紧急制动请求预定的额定减速率之间的偏差保持在可容忍的范围内。
