(EN) The present application relates to the field of communications, and provides a method and apparatus for accessing a network. The method comprises: a terminal device receives a broadcast message from an access network device, the broadcast message comprising identification information of one or more CAGs supported by a first cell and a default network access indication, and the default network access indication being used for indicating that the first cell can be accessed in a default access mode; in the case that a first CAG list does not comprise the identification information of the one or more CAGs supported by the first cell, the terminal device accesses the first cell on the basis of the default access mode, wherein the first CAG list is a list of identification information of CAGs that allow access and are stored in the terminal device. On the basis of the method, an entry capable of accessing a network is provided for a terminal device by means of a default network access indication broadcasted by a core network device, and the terminal device can access the network by means of the entry, thereby preventing the terminal device from being unable to access the network and thus unable to update a local CAG list.
