Abstract
(EN) In one form, the present invention is a Batch Centrifugal Concentrator adapted to mitigate the adverse effects associated with dirty feedwater including a rotary bowl having means to clear solid particulate matter in a high velocity flow stream. In another form, the present invention is a seal assembly adapted for use with a batch centrifugal concentrator. The seal assembly including a non-rotating lower portion and a rotating upper portion. The non-rotating lower portion includes a water in/out port, and the rotating upper portion includes a water in/out port. Each port is interconnected by a conduit that is adapted to enable fluid to flow into, through and out of the seal assembly. A gap is provided between the said lower and upper portions. The stationary portion includes an air inlet port that is adapted to create and maintain a zone of positive pressure within said gap.
(FR) Selon un mode de réalisation, la présente invention concerne un concentrateur centrifuge discontinu conçu pour atténuer les effets néfastes associés à une eau d'alimentation sale, comprenant un bol rotatif ayant des moyens pour éliminer la matière particulaire solide dans un flux d'écoulement à grande vitesse. Selon un autre mode de réalisation, la présente invention concerne un ensemble joint d'étanchéité conçu pour être utilisé avec un concentrateur centrifuge discontinu. L'ensemble joint d'étanchéité comprend une partie inférieure non rotative et une partie supérieure rotative. La partie inférieure non rotative comprend un orifice d'entrée/sortie d'eau, et la partie supérieure rotative comprend un orifice d'entrée/sortie d'eau. Chaque orifice est relié par un conduit qui est conçu pour permettre au fluide de s'écouler dans, à travers et hors de l'ensemble joint d'étanchéité. Un espace est ménagé entre lesdites parties inférieure et supérieure. La partie immobile comprend un orifice d'entrée d'air qui est conçu pour créer et maintenir une zone de pression positive à l'intérieur dudit espace.
