Abstract
(EN) A transmitting device generates multiple small packets for a large packet and transmits them to a receiving device. Routing devices forward the multiple small packets to the receiving device. Each of the smaller packets, except the last packet, has a sequence indicator set. As a result, the receiving device is able to determine that each of the smaller packets is part of a larger packet and buffer the smaller packets or their payloads. When the last packet is received, the larger packet is complete and may be processed by the receiving device. The routing devices delay requests from other transmitting devices to transmit data to the receiving device until the last packet is sent to the receiving device. The routing devices may continue to route traffic to the receiving device on all virtual channels other than a virtual channel being used for the large packet.
(FR) Selon la présente invention, un dispositif de transmission génère des petits paquets multiples pour un grand paquet et transmet ceux-ci à un dispositif de réception. Des dispositifs de routage transmettent les petits paquets multiples au dispositif de réception. Chacun des paquets plus petits, à l’exception du dernier paquet, comporte un ensemble d’indicateurs de séquence. En conséquence, le dispositif de réception est en mesure de déterminer que chacun des paquets plus petits fait partie d’un paquet plus grand et de mettre en mémoire tampon les paquets plus petits ou leurs charges utiles. Lorsque le dernier paquet est reçu, le paquet plus grand est complet et peut être traité par le dispositif de réception. Les dispositifs de routage retardent les demandes provenant d’autres dispositifs de transmission pour transmettre des données au dispositif de réception jusqu’à ce que le dernier paquet soit envoyé au dispositif de réception.
