Abstract
(EN) According to embodiments of the present disclosure, a method of producing hydrogen in a fuel cell includes passing ammonia under pressure to an anode of the fuel cell, where the ammonia is decomposed into nitrogen gas and protons. The fuel cell comprises a cathode, the anode, and a proton-conducting electrolyte between the anode and the cathode. The anode includes an ammonia decomposition catalyst. The method further includes passing the purging the nitrogen from the anode, passing the protons through the proton-conducting electrolyte to the cathode, and passing the electrons from the anode to the cathode, wherein the protons and the electrons react to produce substantially pure hydrogen gas under pressure.
(FR) Selon des modes de réalisation de la présente invention, un procédé de production d'hydrogène dans une pile à combustible comprend le passage d'ammoniac sous pression vers une anode de la pile à combustible, l'ammoniac étant décomposé en azote gazeux et en protons. La pile à combustible comprend une cathode, l'anode et un électrolyte conducteur de protons entre l'anode et la cathode. L'anode comprend un catalyseur de décomposition d'ammoniac. Le procédé consiste en outre à purger l'azote à partir de l'anode, à faire passer les protons à travers l'électrolyte conducteur de protons vers la cathode, et à faire passer les électrons de l'anode à la cathode, les protons et les électrons réagissant pour produire de l'hydrogène gazeux sensiblement pur sous pression.
