Abstract
(EN) A system and method reduce a concentration of viable microorganisms, including but not limited to the 2019 novel (new) coronavirus that causes the illness coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), in air in a workspace by over 80% with a single pass of air through the system. A heater heats air drawn from the workspace and a desiccant dehumidifier further heats air from the heater. The heater and desiccant dehumidifier decontaminate the air to kill or inactivate the microorganisms so that air returned to the workspace from the system has a reduced concentration of viable microorganisms.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un système et un procédé qui diminuent une concentration de microorganismes viables, comprenant, sans limitation, le nouveau coronavirus 2019 qui provoque la maladie à coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19), dans l’air dans un espace de travail de plus de 80 % avec un seul passage de l’air à travers le système. Un dispositif de chauffage chauffe l’air aspiré depuis l’espace de travail et un déshumidificateur déshydratant chauffe en outre l’air provenant du dispositif de chauffage. Le dispositif de chauffage et le déshumidificateur déshydratant décontaminent l’air pour tuer ou inactiver les micro-organismes de sorte que l’air renvoyé à l’espace de travail depuis le système contient une concentration réduite de micro-organismes viables.
