Abstract
(EN) The invention provides a solution according to which generated offshore renewable energy can be efficiently stored and recovered at a large scale and at low cost. For that purpose the invention makes use of two offshore underground reservoirs and two corresponding wells, respectively. These reservoirs and wells are existing provisions, which were previously used for extracting natural gas or oil. In the two reservoirs CO2 is stored, which in the first reservoir is kept at a lower pressure than in the second reservoir. When storing energy, a compressor is driven to cause the CO2 to flow, via the first well, a ducting structure and the second well, from the first reservoir to and into the second reservoir. When recovering energy, the CO2 flows, via the second well, the ducting structure and the first well, from the second reservoir to and into the first reservoir, wherein the CO2 is driving, via a turbine, an electric generator.
(FR) L'invention propose une solution selon laquelle l'énergie renouvelable en mer générée peut être efficacement stockée et récupérée à grande échelle et à faible coût. À cet effet, l'invention utilise deux réservoirs souterrains en mer et deux puits correspondants, respectivement. Ces réservoirs et puits sont des installations existantes, qui étaient auparavant utilisées pour l'extraction de gaz naturel ou de pétrole. Dans les deux réservoirs est stocké du CO2, qui est maintenu à une pression plus faible dans le premier réservoir que dans le second réservoir. Lors du stockage d'énergie, un compresseur est entraîné pour amener le CO2 à s'écouler, par l'intermédiaire du premier puits, d'une structure de conduits d'évacuation et du second puits, à partir du premier réservoir vers et dans le second réservoir. Lors de la récupération d'énergie, le CO2 s'écoule, par l'intermédiaire du second puits, de la structure de conduits d'évacuation et du premier puits, à partir du second réservoir vers et dans le premier réservoir, le CO2 entraînant, par l'intermédiaire d'une turbine, un générateur électrique.
