Abstract
(EN) A genetically engineered live bacterium comprising at least one effector gene that encodes a medical effector and at least one gene modification that shortens the bacterium's lifespan. After being administered to a subject, the bacterium survives within a time sufficient to allow the medical effector to exert at least one medical action and dies within a time sufficient to minimize pathogenesis to the subject. The bacterium provides an effective treatment of diseases or improving conditions while ensuring the biosafety for medical use.
(FR) Bactérie vivante génétiquement modifiée comprenant au moins un gène effecteur codant pour un effecteur médical et au moins une modification génétique réduisant la durée de vie de la bactérie. Après avoir été administrée à un sujet, la bactérie survit pendant un temps suffisant pour permettre à l'effecteur médical d'exercer au moins une action médicale et meurt après un temps suffisant pour minimiser la pathogénèse chez le sujet. La bactérie permet de traiter efficacement des maladies ou d'améliorer des pathologies tout en garantissant la biosécurité pour une utilisation médicale.
