Abstract
(EN) A fiber blend containing: (a) a cellulose acetate (CA) staple fibers having a denier per filament (DPF) of 3.0 or less; and (b) structural staple fibers having a dpf of 6.0 or more; and (c) optionally binder fibers. The fiber blend can be made into nonwoven webs for heat-bonding and subsequent use as thermal insulation in, e.g., outerwear, bedding, etc. The fiber blend can now contain sustainably derived fibers, optionally biodegradable, that provide good thermal insulation clo values and loft even after multiple wash cycles along with good short term compression recovery.
(FR) Mélange de fibres contenant : (a) des fibres discontinues d’acétate de cellulose (CA) ayant un denier par filament (DPF) inférieur ou égal à 3,0 ; et (b) des fibres discontinues structurales ayant un DPF supérieur ou égal à 6,0 ; et (c) éventuellement des fibres liantes. Le mélange de fibres peut être transformé en bandes non tissées en vue d’une liaison thermique et d’une utilisation ultérieure en tant qu'isolation thermique dans, par exemple, des vêtements d’extérieur, la literie, etc. Le mélange de fibres peut à présent contenir des fibres issues d’un approvisionnement responsable, éventuellement biodégradables, qui fournissent de bonnes valeurs clo d'isolation thermique et un gonflant même après de multiples cycles de lavage conjointement avec une bonne récupération de compression à court terme.
