Abstract
(EN) A testing device and method for determining smoke point of a hydrocarbon. The device including: an apparatus for determining the smoke point conforming to specifications of an ASTM D1322-19 standard or equivalent standard, imaging device for taking a series of digital images of a flame; ambient relative humidity sensor for measuring relative humidity; ambient temperature sensor for measuring temperature; computer system linked to the imaging device, humidity sensor, and temperature sensor programmed to analyze digital images from the imaging device to measure flame height flame, and use temperature with relative humidity measured by the temperature and humidity sensors to calculate absolute humidity and correct measured flame height as a function of difference between the calculated absolute humidity and normalized absolute humidity, and preferably to correct measured flame height as a function of difference between pressure during flame height measuring and normalized pressure.
(FR) L'invention concerne un dispositif de test et un procédé de détermination du point de fumée d'un hydrocarbure. Le dispositif comprend : un appareil permettant de déterminer le point de fumée conforme aux spécifications d'une norme ASTM D1322-19 ou d'une norme équivalente, un dispositif d'imagerie permettant de prendre une série d'images numériques d'une flamme ; un capteur d'humidité relative ambiante permettant de mesurer l'humidité relative ; un capteur de température ambiante permettant de mesurer la température ; un système informatique relié au dispositif d'imagerie, au capteur d'humidité et au capteur de température programmé pour analyser des images numériques provenant du dispositif d'imagerie afin de mesurer une hauteur de flamme, et pour utiliser la température conjointement avec l'humidité relative mesurée par les capteurs de température et d'humidité pour calculer l'humidité absolue et corriger une hauteur de flamme mesurée en fonction de la différence entre l'humidité absolue calculée et l'humidité absolue normalisée, et de préférence pour corriger la hauteur de flamme mesurée en fonction de la différence entre la pression pendant la mesure de la hauteur de flamme et la pression normalisée.
