Abstract
(EN) The present invention pertains to a process to enable the recycling of a stream of polyester waste material by depolymerising the polyester by alcoholysis, the process comprising at least a first stage of depolymerisation and a separate second consecutive stage of depolymerisation, to which first and second stages the stream of polymer waste material is subjected in a continuous manner, wherein in the first stage of the two consecutive stages, the stream of polyester waste material is continuously fed to an extruder operated at a temperature above the melting temperature of the polyester, while a first amount of alcohol is co-fed to the extruder, in order to produce a fluid mixture comprising a melt of the at least partly depolymerised polyester, and wherein in the second stage, the said fluid mixture is continuously fed to a continuously stirred tank reactor (CSTR) operated at a temperature above the melting temperature of the polyester, while co-feeding a second amount of alcohol to the CSTR, wherein a residence time in the CSTR is used to provide at the outlet of the CSTR a continuous stream of polyester depolymerised into an oligomeric ester. The invention also pertains to a system for applying this method.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un proccédé pour permettre le recyclage d'un courant de déchets de polyester par dépolymérisation du polyester par alcoolyse, le procédé comprenant au moins une première étape de dépolymérisation et une seconde étape consécutive séparée de dépolymérisation, auxquelles première et seconde étapes le courant de déchets de polymère est soumis d'une manière continue, dans lequel, dans la première étape des deux étapes consécutives, le courant de déchets de polyester est apporté en continu à une extrudeuse fonctionnant à une température supérieure à la température de fusion du polyester, tandis qu'une première quantité d'alcool est conjointement apportée à l'extrudeuse, afin de produire un mélange fluide comprenant une masse fondue du polyester au moins partiellement dépolymérisé, et dans lequel, dans la seconde étape, ledit mélange fluide est apporté en continu à un réacteur à cuve agitée en continu (CSTR) fonctionnant à une température supérieure à la température de fusion du polyester, tout en apportant conjointement une seconde quantité d'alcool au CSTR, un temps de séjour dans le CSTR étant utilisé pour fournir à la sortie du CSTR un courant continu de polyester dépolymérisé en un ester oligomère. L'invention concerne en outre un système pour mettre en œuvre ce procédé.
