Abstract
(EN) A device, system and method for protecting electronic systems from failure or damage when such systems are subjected to undesired conducted or radiated energy such as electromagnetic pulse or electromagnetic interference. The invention also reduces the amount of conducted or radiated emissions from an electronic system. A novel, non- conductive signal feedthrough allows a desired signal to be communicated with electrical connectivity. An incoming desired electrical signal is converted to vibrational energy by a piezoelectric transducer, which is communicated into the interior volume of a conductive electrical enclosure housing a system to be protected, where it is converted back to electrical for processing by the system to be protected by a second piezoelectric transducer. The signal feedthrough allows a continuous conductive enclosure to be employed, providing protection from undesired radiated energy. The signal feedthrough allows communication without requiring electrical conduction through the feedthrough, thus protecting against undesired conducted energy.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un dispositif, un système et un procédé pour protéger des systèmes électroniques contre une défaillance ou un endommagement lorsque de tels systèmes sont soumis à une énergie indésirable émise par conduction ou par rayonnement telle qu'une impulsion électromagnétique ou une interférence électromagnétique. L'invention permet également de réduire la quantité d'émissions par conduction ou par rayonnement provenant d'un système électronique. Une nouvelle traversée de signal non conductrice permet de communiquer un signal souhaité avec une connectivité électrique. Un signal électrique souhaité entrant est converti en énergie vibratoire par un transducteur piézoélectrique, qui est en communication avec le volume intérieur d'une enceinte électrique conductrice abritant un système à protéger, où il est converti en énergie électrique pour être traité par le système à protéger par un second transducteur piézoélectrique. La traversée de signal permet d'utiliser une enceinte conductrice continue, assurant une protection contre une énergie rayonnée indésirable. La traversée de signal permet une communication sans nécessiter de conduction électrique à travers la traversée, protégeant ainsi contre une énergie non souhaitée.
