Abstract
(EN) A process for manufacturing Pure Propofol with a purity of more than 99.90% is disclosed, said process comprising dissolving Crude Propofol in a solvent in which it is soluble to form a solution, treating the solution with aqueous alkali to form an aqueous alkali layer and a solvent layer, separating the aqueous alkali layer from the solvent layer using a phase separation technique, distilling off the solvent from the solvent layer, and distilling a residue of the solvent containing Propofol using steam or boiling water in a presence of dilute alkali and antioxidant like metabisulfite, under normal pressure or mild vacuum.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé de production de Propofol pur ayant une pureté supérieure à 99,90 %, ledit procédé comprenant la dissolution de Propofol brut dans un solvant dans lequel il est soluble pour former une solution, le traitement de la solution avec un alcali aqueux pour former une couche alcaline aqueuse et une couche de solvant, la séparation de la couche alcaline aqueuse de la couche de solvant à l'aide d'une technique de séparation de phase, la distillation du solvant de la couche de solvant, et la distillation d'un résidu du solvant contenant du Propofol en utilisant de la vapeur ou de l'eau bouillante en présence d'un alcali dilué et d'un antioxydant comme le métabisulfite, sous pression normale ou sous vide modéré.
