An object of the present invention is to provide a vehicle control device that controls an engine so as to improve fuel efficiency, with driving characteristics of a driver and an automatic driving system in consideration. A vehicle control device comprises: a driving characteristics computation unit that computes a driving characteristics parameter of an own vehicle on the basis of an intervehicle distance between a preceding vehicle and the own vehicle; a preceding vehicle state prediction unit that predicts a state of the preceding vehicle after a predetermined amount of time, on the basis of the intervehicle distance; and a driving state estimation unit that estimates the driving state of the own vehicle after a predetermined amount of time, on the basis of the state of the preceding vehicle after a predetermined amount of time that the preceding vehicle state prediction unit has predicted and the driving characteristics parameter of the own vehicle that the driving characteristics computation unit has computed.

Un objet de la présente invention est de fournir un dispositif de commande de véhicule qui commande un moteur de façon à améliorer l'efficacité en carburant, en tenant compte des caractéristiques de conduite d'un conducteur et d'un système d'entraînement automatique.
