Abstract

Provided are populations of cells enriched for MSC-derived cells that are: CD90+; CD105+; CD45-; as well as TIMP-1 secretion high, and MMP13 gene expression low. Such populations of cells are useful as medicaments in contexts where it is desired to make use of the trophic or immunosuppressive therapeutic effects of MSCs, but to avoid activity associated with the capacity of MSCs to undergo phenotypic differentiation. Populations of cells of the invention are useful in the treatment of a condition selected from the group consisting of: osteoarthritis; myocardial infarction; meniscus cartilage injury (such as torn meniscus); ligament injury (such as torn ligament); injuries to the skin; and soft tissue injury. They may also be used in treatment of a disease selected from the group consisting of: haematological disease; graft- versus-host disease; and inflammatory disease.

L'invention concerne des populations de cellules enrichies pour des cellules dérivées de MSC, à savoir : CD90+; CD105+; CD45-; ainsi que la sécrétion de TIMP-1 élevée, et l'expression du gène MMP13 faible. De telles populations de cellules sont utiles en tant que médicaments dans des contextes où l'on souhaite utiliser les effets thérapeutiques trophiques ou Immunosuppresseurs des MSC, mais pouvoir éviter l'activité associée à la capacité des MSC à subir une différenciation phénotypique. Les populations de cellules de l'invention sont utiles dans le traitement d'une pathologie choisie dans le groupe constitué par l'arthrose, l'infarctus du myocarde,; la lésion du cartilage du ménisque (telle que la déchirure du ménisque), une lésion de ligament (telle qu'une déchirure du ligament), des lésions de la peau, et une lésion des tissus mous. Lesdites populations peuvent également être utilisés dans le traitement d'une maladie choisie dans le groupe constitué par une maladie hématologique, une maladie du greffon contre l'hôte, et une maladie inflammatoire.
