A method performed by a system (120) for determining a position of a device (140) connected to a communication network (100) is disclosed. The method comprises obtaining a geographical area for the device based on a first position-estimation service, obtaining information on luminosity on the device over a time period, and determining a second position estimation for the device (140) based on the geographical area and on the information on luminosity, by comparing the information on luminosity over the time period to a 3D model of the geographical area, the 3D model comprising models of 3D objects of the geographical area and a model of sunlight shining onto the models of the 3D objects over the time period. Disclosed is further a corresponding system and a position-determining method performed by a communication device.

Un procédé mis en œuvre par un système (120) permettant de déterminer une position d'un dispositif (140) connecté à un réseau de communication (100) est divulgué. Le procédé fait appel aux étapes suivantes : l'obtention d'une zone géographique pour le dispositif sur la base d'un premier service d'estimation de position, l'obtention d'informations sur la luminosité sur le dispositif sur une période de temps, et la détermination d'une seconde estimation de position pour le dispositif (140) sur la base de la zone géographique et des informations sur la luminosité, en comparant les informations sur la luminosité sur la période de temps à un modèle 3D de la zone géographique, le modèle 3D comprenant des modèles d'objets 3D de la zone géographique et un modèle de lumière solaire éclairant les modèles des objets 3D sur la période de temps. Un système correspondant est également divulgué et un procédé de détermination de position mis en œuvre par un dispositif de communication.
